About Me

Kaylla Spinks (pronounced Ky•La) is a Chicago, IL native & founder of Sweat Lit! Her passion for fitness began through her love of sports/dance and developed well into adulthood. She became a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer in 2014, and is currently working towards specializing in ISSA’s Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Nutritionist and Pre/Postnatal certification programs.

“Growing up in Chicago was a beautiful tough experience that made me the woman/trainer I am today. As a child, I struggled to express my creative energy and passion for fitness until I became an athlete/dancer. Playing sports provided focus, discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, personal development and took my mind off the violence all around my neighborhood. I worked in the fitness industry for 10+ years and helped a variety of women/men eliminate perceived physical limitations to accomplish their goals. After surviving a near death experience followed by a long recovery process … life required that I chose a new path. I had to dig deep to discover who I am outside the gym and how my services can make a global impact. In 2017, I accomplished my goal of quitting a 9-5 job to create my own fitness company. Sweat Lit, LLC was born! Our mission is to help members commit to a healthier lifestyle by providing effective workouts, supportive community and building physical/mental/spiritual strength.  

A lifelong athlete, her approach to health/wellness emphasizes age-appropriate programming with a specific focus given to cardiovascular & strength training in combination with balance, meditation and flexibility training. She has an extensive background from working with professional/amateur athletes to working clients with nominal experience in fitness. She is a phenomenal brand ambassador with over 5 years of experience & worked with companies like Athleta/Gap, ATHIA, CURLS, MIELLE Organics and MADTASTY.
